Some interesting facts about the land surrounding river Pamba.

I love trees in a big way. I love to touch them gently. 

When I was reading Ramayanam, I came across the names of the following trees. This can be found in Sargam 73-Aaranya kandam.  Kabandhan guides Sri Rama on the route to reach Rishyamuga parvadham where he wanted to meet Sugreevan.

Rishyamuga parvadam was said to be located east of river Pamba. It was somewhere in present day Hampi, Karnataka.

ரிஷ்யமுகம் என்ற பெயர் காரணம் 
வெண்மையான கால்களை கொண்ட ரிஷ்யம் என்ற மான் இனம், அங்குள்ள முனிவர்களிடம் உள்ள பக்தியால் சப்தம் செய்யாமல் மெல்ல நடந்தபடியால், ரிஷ்யமுகம் என்ற பெயர்.

Kabandhan also clearly explain the land surrounding the river Pamba. (பம்பா )

The water of Pambai was said to be pure and crystal clear. (is it so even now?) Some of the birds (ah, I love to watch birds and spends quality time to read about birds from all over the world) that were found in the Pamba regions are:

குரரம் ( a kind of king fisher)
